Using the Audit trail function of QuickBooks desktop and customizing reports

How to turn on the Audit trail function of QuickBooks?

Now you will get the dialog box of preferences
and you will need to choose the accounting set of preferences with the help of
the icon bar located in the left corner of the preference dialog box.

After choosing the accounting set of
preferences, you will have to click on Company
Preference tab.

Now to tell QuickBooks that you want to use an
audit trail, you will have to choose the Use
Audit Trail check box and then click on OK.

who will make changes to your accounting.
How to customize different parts of the report according to your need?
Display
After clicking on the display tab you will get several
options under it. You can set the date range for the report, which it will
cover. For doing so, you will have to click on Dates and then you can choose
your dates manually or from the calendar option as well. You can also choose
report basis from accrual or cash. There are other customization options for
the display like the column and advance settings.
Filters tab
You can use the filter tab to limit report data to
particular criteria. For filtering a report, first of all, you will have to
click on the Filters tab from the Modify report windows. Then, from the filter
list, select the filter which you want to use. Now, in the filter detail
information, enter the additional information required for the filter to run
perfectly. Finally, from the filter choice column, highlight a filter that you
want to remove, click on Remove Selected
Filter and click on OK.
Header/ Footer tab
This customization offers you the option to modify the
information that will come at the bottom and top part of the report. Header
appears at the top of your report while Footer appears at the bottom of your
report. You can check or uncheck for the information which you want to keep or
remove. You can use the field provided to update the information.If you wish to
change the alignment, then click on the alignment drop down.
