Various ways of customizing QuickBooks Reports

First of all, you need to go to QB dashboard

click on Customize Reports

v Display Tab
The information displayed on the report is
determined by the display tab. There are various elements in the display tab

· Report Data Range
You can choose the dates which will be covered by the report and for
doing so, click on the date and select from the drop down date range, or you
can also enter the date manually by selecting from the calendar.
· Report Basis
You can choose from the available report basis options which are: Accrual
basis and cash basis.
· Columns
Some reports in QB like the Balance sheet and Profit and Loss only have
display columns by drop down where you can customize the column to appear in
the way you want.
Open Invoice and Unpaid bill detailed reports and on the other side,
provide a list which can be used for columns. If you have set custom fields and
these fields get added to form templates, then they will also appear in the
columns list. For keeping or removing a column, choose the data.
A sort by drop down menu allows you to choose how your data will appear.
It specifies how the reports shorts within the subtotal.
· Advanced
When you click on the Advanced button, there are various options
displayed under it and they vary according to the report you have generated.
In reports like, General Ledger, Custom Transaction details. Sales by customers,
Vendor Balance details, etc., you get the following options
Include: This specifies QB to
which of the accounts, name, item, etc. will be included in the report. You can
select from the option of All and In Use.
Open Balance/Aging:Specifies
QB to the effective date of report. You can choose from Current and Report Date.
In reports like Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet standards, etc., you have
Display Rows and Display Columns which commands QuickBooks to display
particular and columns in the report. You get the options of Active, All, Non-Zero and Reporting Calendar in it.
v Filter Tab
It allows you to restrict the data of the
report to selected criteria. You can filter a report by following the below-mentioned
steps

From the list of filter, select the filter which
you want to apply

In the detail information of the Filter, choose
or enter additional information that QB requires for the filter to work
properly

From the available filter choices column,
highlight a filter which you want to delete and then click on Remove Selected Filter

Now Click on Ok
v Header/Footer Tab
It helps you to customize the information
that will appear at the top and bottom part of the report. Check or uncheck the
box for the information which you want to add/delete. For changing the
alignment, click on Alignment dropdown.
This tab allows you to customize the style
and appearance of the report. For changing the font, follow the below mentioned
steps.

Then click on Change Font

Now go to the Column labels window, change the
font, its effect, and color

Click on OK

Finally, you will see changing font window,
click on Yes to apply the changed which you have made.
v Foots and Numbers tab
This tab allows you to customize the style
and appearance of the report. For changing the font, follow the below mentioned
steps.

Then click on Change Font

Now go to the Column labels window, change the
font, its effect, and color

Click on OK

Finally, you will see changing font window,
click on Yes to apply the changed which you have made.
