What to do if Outlook is missing from your QB Send form preferences?
Outlook is very important part of QuickBooks. Without
Outlook, you won’t be able to send the different types of forms through email.
Outlook also offers you the three different methods of sending and receiving
email through webmail account, outlook, and QuickBooks mail.
But sometimes when you change your emailing preference in
QuickBooks, there might be chances of Outlook not coming up as an option. The
reason for the missing outlook error can be from the following:-
· You might be using an older version of Microsoft
Office like the 2010.
·
You have not setup your profile in the
Microsoft.
·
You might not have chosen Outlook in your
preferred email program in Internet Explorer
·
You might be using QuickBooks hosting and your
cloud provider hasn’t installed Outlook in the hosted application.
So, your Outlook may be missing from the options because of
the above-mentioned reasons and for solving this issue, you can choose to
perform any of the following solutions.
Solution 1- Checking the compatibility of your Outlook version
· Go to your Outlook Help menu and then choose the
option for Microsoft Office Outlook.
· After that, verify the version information and
the build number for installing the version of Outlook.
· Then check the version of the Outlook for easily
send and set up the email.
· Checking your QuickBooks ribbon will also give
you an idea of your Outlook version.
Solution 2- Choose Outlook as your default email program
For Outlook 2010-2013
· First of all, choose the File tab
· Then click on Options
· After that, choose the Startup option
· Under the Startup options, click on the checkbox
of Make Outlook the default for email, Contacts ans calendars.
For Outlook 2007 and earlier
· Click on Tools
· Then choose Options
· After that, click on Other tab
· Now, under the general tab settings, mark the
checkbox which says Make Outlooks the default program for email.
Solution 3- Choose the default email program in Internet Explorer
· Under the tools menu of Internet Explorer,
choose Internet Options
· Then select Program tab
· Now, follow the instruction which varies
according to the version of Internet Explorer
· Click on Set Programs located at the bottom of
the window
· Select set your default programs
· After that, select your email applications
· Then, choose select this program as default and
then click on Ok
· Select Set program access and computer defaults
· Choose Microsoft Windows
· Now click on the drop-down arrow and then choose
Use my current Microsoft email program
· Finally, click on ok.
Solution 4 – Make changes in the mail profile setting in Windows
· First of all, you will need to close QuickBooks
· After that, click on the Windows button in the
bottom left corner and go to Control Panel
· Now, click on Mail in the screen
· Then, click on the Options show profile
· Select the profile and then click on Ok
Solution 5- Uninstall and then reinstall both Office and QuickBooks
